Dear Parents,

I hope that you have enjoyed a restful holiday with your families.

I am writing to update you concerning the disappointing news we received prior to the break that the Ministry of Education (MOE) would be delaying the return of Pre-KG-Grade 6/FS1-Year 7 students to in-person learning.

In the past week, I have been in close communication with the heads of the other two schools within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that are officially supported by the US State Department. On Monday, we met with Dr. Hind Al Harbi, General Director of International and Foreign Education at the MOE in Riyadh, to discuss our concerns with the decision. Unfortunately, we were unable to secure a timeline for the return of our youngest students.

I fully appreciate and share the disappointment within our community concerning the ongoing situation. ISG will continue to work with the US State Department, other embassy representatives and the American International Schools of Riyadh and Jeddah to push for the official return of all our students.

I hope to have further news for you in my weekly update next week.

Best wishes,

Dr. Michael P. Mack
